Roy Lichtenstein’s monumental sculpture, Modern Head, stands thirty-one feet tall and is made of painted stainless steel. A major figure in the pop art movement, Lichtenstein used flat planes and geometric forms to reference the work of Picasso, classical Greek statues, and art deco architecture. SAAM acquired the work in 2008.
