The unveiling of the portrait, held in the museum’s Robert and Arlene Kogod Courtyard on the morning of Dec. 13, was a star-studded affair, with speeches by Smithsonian Secretary Lonnie Bunch, National Portrait Gallery Director Kim Sajet, Winfrey, and Warren. The event attracted a constellation of luminaries from television, publishing, business, arts, culture, and Hollywood, all gathered to honor Winfrey's extraordinary career and influence. Sajet lauded Winfrey's remarkable ability to connect with individuals and inspire them to reach their full potential through her iconic show, The Oprah Winfrey Show.
